Duck Hunting

Duck hunting continues to be a threat to birds in Australia, despite population trends plummeting over the last few decades. It's time to stop the needless slaughter.

Help protect South Australian waterbirds

At a time when birds need government action the most, they are being forced to endure yet another threat to their survival - one that is entirely preventable.

Help give ducks hope, by giving them a voice. Ask Premier Malinauskas, Minister Hood, and your local representatives when they will finally end recreational duck hunting in South Australia.

Email Tips +

  • Consider personalising your email to explain how recreational hunting affects you and your ability to engage with South Australian wetlands and wildlife
  • Keep your email polite, we want to give ducks a voice, not start an argument
  • If you aren't South Australian, or no longer live in SA, but still care about birds and ending unsustainable native bird hunting in the state, you can still use the email tool, though you will only be contacting the SA Premier and Minister for Environment, as you have no local representatives.

Note: Emails will be sent to: South Australian Premier, Peter Malinauskas; Minister for Climate, Environment and Water, the Hon. Lucy Hood; and your South Australian elected representatives, as identified by your postcode. You can unselect these location-based politicians if you wish to just email the Premier and Minister directly.
