Submissions are best kept concise and focussed on key concernsrecommendations and personalised or local experiences. Use our template as a guide only, it's important that key messages are delievered uniquely.

The quantity of submissions is impactful. Keep it simple, submissions don’t need to be long.  Ask others in your network to also make a submission. Even if you only have a short time to prepare, it is worth submitting your view. If you have a personal narrative relating to the subject matter, lead with this!

The most important thing is to get across your thoughts and lived experiences, rather than external expertise: your submission will not be more effective because it is long, technical, or opinionated.

🔥 Hot tip: Emphasise any personal relationship to the issue or story. The more personal the more powerful

This is about numbers: Replication of key terms makes it easier for the analyst to group recommendations. The more frequently a particular recommendation is made, the more likely it is that the powerholder will consider it.
